Mac Os X 10.6.8 Update; Mac Os X 10.7 Free; Reinstall from macOS Recovery. MacOS Recovery makes it easy to reinstall the Mac operating system, even if you need to erase your startup disk first. All you need is a connection to the Internet. If a wireless network is available, you can choose it. If the MacBook supports Yosemite (the latest OS version), then you could download the installer from the App Store. There are several tutorials on how to make a bootable USB drive; in which case you could boot in to the installer, wipe the disk, and install a clean Yosemite. If you want a clean 10.6. Hold option/alt key while booting back up, then select the USB installer and install a new OS on your machine. When you are booted into the installer, don't forget to format your HDD 1st, then install the newest OS on it. Check what OS does your machine support. And get the latest one. Quite a while back I deleted the 2.6 directory that contained the built in Mac OS X Python install, and now I am in need of having it back. How might one go about re-compiling and install.
