Hello,
You cannot activate the trial version. You must uninstall the trial and then download and install the installation files you received a link to (in an email) when you purchased PowerDirector from the store.

Hi David,
Thanks for the feedback. The links they Cyberlink sent me with the purchase says links have expired. I bought the product in October 2016. Not sure why its expired. Customer support at Cyberlink are usless in getting to my enquiry.
Do you have any suggestions?

The links are only good for 30 days, basically so they can't be shared.
CyberLink's customer service is not useless, they are just busy so you need to be clear about your issue. Just send them a message with your purchase confirmation/order number information and they will give you a new download link.

The sale conditions are clear. You get the link for 30 days and then it's up to you to backup the downloaded files.
Also, they are clearly offering a back-up disc for $7.14 or a cloud back-up for 1 year for $8.50. I think it's not fair to acuse them for your own choices or in-actions.

Yes, the poster didn't respond to a request to edit his post to make it a constructive dialogue, and then he responded to your post in a similar way, with an opinion on differing commercial software distribution practices.

Myt question realtes to powerdirector 16.
I switched computers and was resent the software download.
However, it seems to be the trial version.
I was also sen trh product key but can not find where to enter it?
When I click on 'my products' i can see a symb ol of a key and when i t click on it it just says 'trial' and wont allow me to enter anythig.
Whenever, i click on anything related to upgrade of purchae it always takes me to a 365 subscription (which I don't want).
Suggestions for how to convert from trial to purchased Power Dirctor16?

Hello Jody,
You cannot activate the trial version. Please check with customer service that they sent you the correct installation files for PowerDirector 16, i.e. the Ultra version or whatever you previously purchased.
Not sure what you mean by clicking on 'My Products'. Just try and launch PowerDirector from its desktop shortcut or from the Windows start menu. When it launches the first time, it will ask you for your product key.

Solved byMar 12, 2017 20:40 I downloaded the trial version of PD and created a video, which contained the PD watermark on the opening frame, as expected.
I then purchased & installed the paid version, and expected the watermark to disappear, but it did not. I have attached a screen shot that shows the watermark.
I hope I don't need to re-create the video under the paid version to lose the watermark?

Are you sure you don't have scroll bar on the right of the tracks allowing you to go down further.

There may have been changes since a few years ago on what track the watermark is at. Try this: Click the Track 1 enable box in the track manager and then Right mouse click and select Enable selected tracks only. Now enable only the other tracks that you want. This should work.
You may need to contact Cyberlink services if the above don’t work. It may also be that although you are using the paid version, the trial version is still installed and it affects it.

Recent versions of PD trials don't use a 'Title' in the timeline to add the text anymore, when you bring the trial saved pds file into the purchased version and 'Produce' the statement is just absent. There is nothing to look for in any track in the timeline. This has been the case for PD14 and PD15 trails for sure (previously mentioned here, http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/45898.page#post_box_237290 ). PD12 still used the older titles approach which was the prior referenced links.
You might try a full uninstall with a cleanup utitlity to remove PD and then start install from stratch. If by chance you are using some trial produced clip in the timeline, only approach is to cut feature out. Does the same issue exist with a new project created in your purchased full product?

Problem solved. I submitted a support ticket to Cyberlink, and was advised to do the following:

  • Add a ~10 second clip to the start of the video

  • Produce the video (to 'transfer' the watermark to the new clip)

  • Delete the clip

  • Produce the video again.


All good now. Thanks to all for your suggestions.
